Gamemodes[]

The game primarily consists of four game modes: survival, creative, adventure, and spectator. It also has a changeable difficulty system of four levels; the easiest difficulty (peaceful) removes any hostile creatures that spawn.

Survival[]

This is a game mode in which the player has to use the resources around them to build a home, mine and survive hostile mobs which spawn at night. Players can take damage and the primary objective is to escape all of the hostile mobs.

Creative[]

In creative mode, players have access to all of the resources and items in the game through the inventory menu, and can place or remove them instantly. Players, able to fly freely around the game world, do not take environmental or mob damage, and are not affected by hunger. The game mode helps players focus on building and creating large projects.

Adventure[]

Adventure mode was added to Minecraft in version 1.3; it was designed specifically so that players could experience user crafted custom maps and adventures. Gameplay is similar to survival mode but introduces various player restrictions. This is so that players can obtain the required items and experience adventures in the way that the mapmaker intended. Another addition designed for custom maps is the command block; this block allows mapmakers to expand interactions with players through certain server commands.

Spectator[]

Info to be added soon.

NPC Villages[]

Street Savannah Village

A typical NPC village

A village is a location in Minecraft. Villages are made up of a variety of different buildings, which range from large to small. Some of these buildings contain chests with valuable loot inside. Villages are occupied by villagers, NPCs who can be traded with in most versions of the game. These villagers have different professions - farmer, librarian, priest, blacksmith and butcher. As well as houses, villages contain areas for farming, butcher's shops, libraries and churches. Villages can vary in size and are mostly found in plain and grassland biomes, as well as desert villages being found in the desert biomes. Villages are important to the game as they allow players to find goods and trade with the villagers.
